About Maria as a Speaker
I’m Maria Messer—a Special Education Director, speaker, writer, former special education teacher, and mom to a son with significant disabilities. For more than twenty years, I’ve helped people navigate uncertainty from inside educational systems. And for just as many years, I’ve navigated it as a parent. I’ve written IEPs from one side of the table and cried my way through them from the other.
